In our campaign to change the way abused and neglected children are cared for in the United States, we also stand with other organizations that work to protect the rights of children worldwide. Tonight in New York City, Children’s Rights will participate in a panel discussion hosted by Amnesty International Manhattancelebrating the 62nd anniversary of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.
Associate Director Susan Lambiase will join a group of human rights scholars and children’s rights advocates to discuss “Protecting & Promoting the Human Rights of Children Around the World.” The panel discussion will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session.
The event, presented in conjunction with Amnesty International’s Dignity Campaign, will include a candle lighting and ceremonial reading of the UDHR, a moment of silence for victims of human rights abuses, a raffle drawing, and a reception.
