Delivering Mother’s Day to the Moms of Dilley

The moms of Dilley deserve to know we see them — and that we’re not looking away. This Mother’s Day, we asked people to send a letter, a card, a poem or lyric you love, a drawing, or a few words of hope — whatever felt right.

People from across the U.S. and around the world sent more than 3,000 messages of love, solidarity, and strength to mothers detained in Dilley with their children.

Something simple became something powerful: a collective moment of caring.

Read the Cards

Addressing women whose lives are marked by isolation, fear, and profound uncertainty, thousands sent words of compassion, respect, and moral outrage.

As one person in Hawaii shared, “My hope is that this letter gives you just a tiny bit of strength and peace and comfort that people do care.”

These messages will reach mothers separated from their communities and families under conditions no one should have to endure. They carry real weight — a reminder to each mother that she is not alone.

We remain in the fight alongside them and their children — in the courtroom and in the eyes of the public, to challenge the injustices faced by families in Dilley and to keep their stories visible.

Together, we continue to stand with children and families.
