Betsy Weintraub is a Staff Attorney at Children’s Rights, based in the Atlanta Office. An experienced trial attorney, Betsy has litigated civil and criminal cases in state and federal court. Prior to joining Children’s Rights, Betsy worked with Memphis Area Legal Services, assisting victims of domestic and sexual violence in obtaining orders of protection from their abusers, and conducted independent investigations for GRACE, a nonprofit organization focused on eliminating sexual abuse in religious institutions. A third-generation attorney, Betsy was named one of the Memphis Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” in 2012.
Betsy spent most of her career as a criminal prosecutor. As an Assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands from 2015 to 2017, Betsy was head of the Violent Crimes Unit and served on the Special Prosecutions Unit, handling cases involving domestic violence, sex crimes, and crimes against children. Betsy began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney General in Memphis, Tennessee, where she conducted hundreds of contested hearings and bench trials, as well as many jury trials in criminal court. In 2010, she received the District Attorney’s Award for Distinguished Service.
