Nicole Taykhman joined Children’s Rights as a Staff Attorney in 2020. Previously, she was a litigation associate at Jenner & Block LLP in New York, where she represented clients in complex commercial disputes and investigations. She also maintained a significant pro bono practice, including direct service work and impact litigation spanning the fields of reproductive rights, immigration, disability rights, and veterans’ rights. Before then, Ms. Taykhman clerked for the Honorable Michael P. Shea of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Ms. Taykhman earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2016. At Columbia, she was a James Kent Scholar and received the Pauline Berman Heller Prize for academic achievement in the service of gender equality in law and the Myra Bradwell Award for best student note on the topic of women and the law. She served as a Submissions Editor for the Columbia Journal of Gender of Law and participated in the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic, in which she represented refugee mothers and children in immigration and family court proceedings.
