Hundreds joined us in New York City on October 5, 2009, to celebrate our victories and support our efforts to reach more vulnerable kids who need our help.

Be sure to check out the new video we premiered at the event, Tre’Shawn P., telling the story of a remarkable young man who survived a nightmare in New Jersey child welfare — and whose life has been transformed through his own sheer willpower and Children’s Rights’ work on his behalf.

The event also featured a keynote speech by the acclaimed New Yorker writer Malcolm Gladwell, and, on behalf of the Children’s Rights Board of Directors, New York City Public Schools Chancellor Joel I. Klein presented the Children’s Rights Champion Award to the great philanthropist Lewis Cullman and his late wife, Dorothy.
