Annual Benefit

Thanks to all who came out to our Sixth Annual Benefit to support Children’s Rights

More than 300 people gathered at New York City’s Plaza Hotel on Tuesday, October 4, to raise awareness and support for Children’s Rights’ nationwide campaigns to change the lives of hundreds of thousands of abused and neglected children in foster care. Together, we honored Douglas Durst of The Durst Organization for his philanthropic efforts that has continually improved the lives of children, families and communities.

Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician, child welfare advocate and member of the Children’s Rights Board of Directors gave an exciting performance with DJ Charlie Chan.

The evening also saw the debut of a new short film that reveals the brighter side of Children’s Rights efforts — and what is possible when foster care systems work the way they’re supposed to.

A live auction by Sotheby’s Executive Vice President and Senior Auctioneer Hugh Hildesley to raise substantial funds in support of Children’s Rights’ ongoing campaigns to bring dramatic improvements to the lives of abused and neglected children nationwide.

Co-chairs for this lively and inspiring event were Lewis and Louise Hirschfeld Cullman, Helena Durst, Cori and Dan Galpern, and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. Young Leadership Committee Co-Chairs were Diane and Alejandro Longoria and Moises de La Renta.

Children’s Rights’ I AM ONE Committee included Alisyn Camerota, Patti LaBelle, Natalie Morales, Denise Richards, Hannah Storm, and Marcia Wallace.
