Daniel Holt
Staff Attorney
Before joining Children’s Rights in 2006, Daniel Holt was a senior staff attorney at the Office of the Appellate Defender in New York City, where he represented indigent state prisoners on appeal. He also represented prisoners in re-sentencing proceedings under the Rockefeller Drug Law Reform Acts. Prior to working at OAD, Mr. Holt was a staff attorney at the Center for Capital Litigation in South Carolina, representing capital defendants in both state and federal post-conviction proceedings.
Mr. Holt received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law. While at NYU, he was a Furman Fellow at the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, an intern at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and a participant in the Alabama Capital Defender Clinic. He was also a senior articles editor of the NYU Review of Law & Social Change and a staff editor of the NYU Journal of International Law & Politics. Mr. Holt has an M.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A., magna cum laude, from NYU.
