Postgraduate Fellowships
Children’s Rights seeks law students graduating in 2011 (current 2Ls) and current law clerks to sponsor as Postgraduate Fellows for a fellowship to begin in September 2011. We plan to sponsor a fellow through the Equal Justice Works, Skadden, Liman, Holmes, or other similar public interest fellowship programs.
Qualifications
We are seeking a fellowship candidate with excellent writing skills, an outstanding academic record, and a demonstrated commitment to public interest. Preference will be given to applicants familiar with complex class action litigation and federal court practice or with a federal court clerkship. Knowledge of children’s issues or social service systems is a plus but is not required. The position requires excellent legal research and writing skills and the ability and interest to address policy issues as well as traditional litigation. Travel is required.
Application Process
Interested applicants should submit (1) cover letter, (2) resume, (3) law school transcript, and (4) one or more writing samples. Completed applications are due by July 31, 2010, and may be sent by email to Kelley Fong at kfong@childrensrights.org, by fax to (212) 683-4015, or by mail to:
