2016 COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP
Children’s Rights (CR) seeks a committed, enthusiastic and highly organized student to intern in our Communications and Marketing Department in the summer of 2016. The small, dynamic department is responsible for strategic and day-to-day communications for the national advocacy organization dedicated to protecting abused and neglected children. The intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in areas that may include blogging, writing social media posts, SEO, pitching stories to the media, tracking and filing media hits, updating press lists, editing photos and graphic design.
The ideal candidate should be a strong writer, working toward a degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, communications, human rights, international relations, social work or a related field. Some Photoshop experience is preferred, and an interest in child welfare or nonprofit communications is a plus. Hours per week are open to discussion, but applicants should be prepared to commit a minimum of 14 hours per week. Internships at Children’s Rights are unpaid.
To apply, please submit your cover letter, resume, and several recent writing samples via email to Wende Gozan Brown, director of communications and marketing, at firstname.lastname@example.org (please include “Intern” in the subject line) by March 18. Only applicants of interest will be contacted.
